Dxva ffdshow codec

We need to start doing some graph checks, are you familiar with graphstudio? What it basically does is tell you what decoders are being used by your system when you open up your media files. I think this is the next stage we have to go to. Find Graphstudio on the net redscorpions blog - Author of Graphstudio and download your respective version i. Then run it - the files that you have blocky stuttery issues on simply just drag and drop them in the big grey box under the icons and it will tell you what decoders are being used to decode the media file.

It's really handy if you post up screen shots of graph studio when posting in here as it's pictorial and speaks a thousand words For TV this is a little more tricky as you will have to register proppage. But we'll cross that bridge when you are ready for it, plus I've got the proppage. I also have to refresh my memory on how to hook up with a live feed in graphstudio. But if you would like to read some of my experiences and what you can get out of the graph studio and proppage. Hope it helps.

Sorry dude missed out the 2, the 2 files u mention are the ones i'm referring to. How u getting on with graphstudio? I guess next step is to understand what is missing when usin TV. Interestingly the "fix" for priority in sound devices for BBC HD sound causes problems with normal playback of movies. Also what has amused me the most so far is that I can double click the recordings from windows exploter and watch the BBC HD or normal recordings, but if I try to view while inside MCE they come up saying encoders are wrong.

I also got to the bottom of half the problems, it was with DXVA installed. When using this is made the vids more blocky and also screwed up the subtitles metalic ghosting I described So i've turned off DXVA where used in FilterTweak. I'm on the iphone at the mo so will have a look tomorrow, I take that the tv graphs are from recorded tv. Good that u found dxva to be an issue, did u select h and vc-1 in ffdshow dxva decoder config. Speak tomorrow bud. That said, no discernible difference in playback system CPU usage so I suppose, "if it ain't broke, don't touch it" so just accept that no hardware accelerator and live with it.

Just trying to do the best I can. Next step I was considering is to try your "watching live TV" and record that on graphstudio. I am away this bank holiday and I think i've used up all my brownie points this week to play on the computer to get it right, so best get ready for the weekend instead. I'll see if I can register that dll you list above. I can still watch back recorded information with movie setup, but only if run from MS explorer via a double click.

Update: Life is very good now for all movies etc. TV is still broken, but at least now I have video playing with Audio decoder turned off in tweaks. Interestingly, if I play a movie and then while it's still playing turn on live TV it plays fine, but switching channels makes it fall over.

However try to start from scratch and I get the same old "audio loops first secs" on normal TV and HD just plays video with no audio. Has anyone looked into these modifications? I did manage using media control last night to record a graph for live TV using the DTV graph link inside it , but being thick I forgot to upload it to this PC to share.

THis just shows the problem of "watching movie and switch straight away to liveTV" and that it works, but then if do fresh start of MCE tv fails again.

GRrrr, frustration. Thinking more and more, the best option seems to be don't disable audio decoder in the tweaks option and somehow make ffdshow still work for everything except livetv? Ok, I've have used both of these guides when Win7 was still in beta and they work very well, however the new preferred filter tweaker actually does all this for you so there is no need to registry hack.

Did you not say that when you set everything back to normal TV worked fine, so there is clearly a codec setup issue somewhere. When you get some time can you post up as many screen shots as possible of your filter tweaker setup all 3 screens with all options showing , your ffdshow codec setup for both audio and video and on the audio config the outputs page.

I'm sure i'll be able to nail the problem once I can see some more info. Add anything else you think might help. FFDShow seemed to sort these issues out for me by ensuring that everything that I had passing thru the audio was tweaked in some way shape or form to output as DD5.

I went camping last weekend and got away with the weather luckily lol, but a mate of mine went to the same place in the New Forest yesterday and was home by about 10pm as it was lashing it down. With regards to your 3rd party software for TV, I would stay away from it really as you will lose that all in one MCE experience, however if you do decide to use a 3rd party TV viewer then my suggestion would be DVBViewer Pro, it's a pretty amazing bit of software with some nice GUI skins available.

Look forward to seeing the screen shots. One thing did spark in my mind that We will only need to look at the 64bit config for FFDShow as this is what MCE will be using for it's services and players. I'm wondering if you missed anything in the 64bit setup, also have you downloaded the latest FFDShow x64 from the tryouts site.

Just click the I agree radio button and continue and it should download for you Linky Here Catch up with you soon bud. Last edited: Aug 26, I've finally got around to taking a few screenies of the settings for all bits and bobs. I did not remember about only including 64 bit, so included both Bottom ones in each picture are the 64bit version running for FFD I got a bit carried away with taking them and ended up taking screenshots of all the settings, not just the ones listed in the guides.

So I also uploaded zip containing all the originals Original pictures of setup all zipped up to download from my Skydrive - Windows Live I hope that this enables you to be able to pinpoint, or at least narrow down the problem of liveTV sound not working properly with the system set up to playback movies. Cheers Freddie. Last edited: Sep 8, Shameless Bump to ask for some kind advice on these settings.

The Microsoft Download Manager solves these potential problems. It gives you the ability to download multiple files at one time and download large files quickly and reliably. It also allows you to suspend active downloads and resume downloads that have failed. Microsoft Download Manager is free and available for download now.
